The ruling National Resistance Movement’s NRM Party director for Director Information and Publicity, Emmanuel Dombo, has attributed the long stay of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in power to the country’s steady democratic processes.

According to Dombo, President Museveni has been consistently in power due to the steady democracy, and as a result, he has built a strong breed of leaders, including some opposition leaders.

On Monday, September 16th, while on a local TV station in Kampala, Dombo said despite his coming to power as a rebel in 1986, President Museveni has built a stronger democratic process in Uganda where leaders are elected every five years.

Dombo argued that Museveni has also formed a vibrant government that largely spurred stability, hence winning enormous support from Ugandans during the election.

“H.E. the president committed himself to suppress insurgencies in our country that included the Lord’s Resistance Army with effort, restoring political stability, security, and order, constitutionalism, and the rule of law in Uganda,’’ said Dombo.

Uganda is set to go into another election in 2026. Museveni’s leadership is largely recognized for restoring security sanity, the rule of law, promoting democracy, stabilizing the economy, and introducing reliable quality social livelihoods, including education and health, among others.
