Namuleme Steps Down as Kampala Queens Captain,

The long-serving captain for Kampala Queens Football Club (FC) Zainah Namuleme has stepped down from her position. She has been replaced by Daisy Nakaziro who currently serves as a goalkeeper.

Namuleme expressed her gratitude to her coaches and players for cordially working with her during her reign. She also wished her successor all the best in her new endeavors.

“Today I cease to be the captain of this club. It has been a great honor to serve as the captain of Kampala Queens Football Club,” she stated.

“I thank the club for giving me a special opportunity to serve in the best way possible,” she added.

It is remembered that Namuleme took over the role from Fauzia Najjembe at the start of the 2021/22 season. During Namuleme’s regime, Kampala Queens won their maiden FUFA Women Super League trophy in the previous season after coming so close in the 2021/22 campaign.

“Me and my fellow players and the new captain will play our hearts out to achieve our ultimate target of defending our league title this season.I strongly believe the club’s armband will be in safe hands and I wish our new skipper the very best in all her endeavors,” Namuleme said.

Nakaziro has previously served as a captain of Lady Doves and won the league title in 2021 in a shortened season at Njeru.
