Mukono: Woman Arrested Over Killing Her Two Biological Children

Police in Mukono have in custody 29-year-old Esther Nankya for allegedly murdering her two children. The suspect is a wife of Musa Kamya both residents of Kikubankima village in Mukono district.

The deceased who have been identified as Shaban Kamoga and Ramathan Lubega at the time of the incident were aged 6 and 3 respectively.

According to the father of the deceased Musa Kamya, the incident happened yesterday Wednesday September 21st 2022.

“When I returned home, there was no one to open the gate for me. So I opened and when I entered the house, I found our two children’s bodies lying in a pool of blood in the living room,” Kamya said.

This prompted him to make an alarm which attracted the neighbors and police later responded to the scene of crime.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, it is alleged that the suspect (Nankya) strangled and hit the victims on the wall until they eventually died.

“The police officers who responded to the scene observed several open wounds on their necks. It is alleged that the suspect strangled and hit the victims on the wall several times until they died,” Owoyesigyire said.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem.

According to Police, Nankya’s intentions and motives for the murder are not yet known but investigations are ongoing to uncover more information.

The suspect (Nankya) is being detained at Mukono Central Police Station pending investigations and will be produced to court for trial.
