Minister Oboth-Oboth Tasks New NEC Board with Prioritizing Accountability, Sustainability

The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth, has called upon the newly appointed Board of Directors of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) to focus on the corporation’s prosperity, growth, and long-term sustainability, while adhering to their statutory responsibilities.

During the inauguration ceremony held at NEC’s headquarters in Bugoloobi, Kampala, on 23 July 2024, Minister Oboth-Oboth emphasized the importance of accountability in fostering trust and respect among investors.

“I expect total accountability because accountability breeds acceptance and respectability by investors for the enterprise. Both business prosperity and accountability are at the forefront of every corporation’s strategic thinking, planning, and activity,” Oboth-Oboth said.

He charged the Board with the responsibility of steering the corporation toward fulfilling its mission in alignment with the UPDF objectives.
