The Minister of State for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, is on an aggressive monitoring tour, checking the implementation of the Emyooga programme and its performance in the region.
The minister arrived in Kaberamaido district today, Thursday, October 19, 2023, after visiting Amuria and Orungo town councils.
Minister Kasolo urged the people of the region to continue embracing government programmes like Emyooga in order to improve household incomes and eliminate poverty.
“Embrace the savings culture and also fulfil your loan obligations, including loan repayments, to ensure the successful implementation of the Emyooga programme,” Kyeyune advised.
He stated that, as a government, they pledged to work with other responsible authorities to ensure that people in the region get easy access to financial services.
The ultimate objective of the Emyooga programme is to facilitate the socio-economic transformation of households from subsistence to the money economy and market-oriented production by improving the household incomes of the target beneficiaries, increasing job opportunities, and enhancing the entrepreneurial capacity of the beneficiaries through sensitization.
