Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) has handed over smartphones to the Village Health Teams (VHTs) of Kisenyi I, II, and III in Mengo parish, Kampala central.

While handing 18 phones to the VHTs on Friday, August 23, 2024, the KCCA Inspector of Health, Grace Okello, noted that the smart phones will provide easy access to data and information sharing in real time, thus improving service delivery, adding that during out breaks, smartphones can help in coordination.

Additionally, he appreciated VHTs for always serving as the first point of contact for various health-related issues in the communities.

VHTs were established by the Ministry of Health to empower communities to take part in the decisions that affect their health, mobilize communities for health programs, and strengthen the delivery of health services at the household level.
