The Ministry of Works and Transport in conjunction with the Uganda Police Force and Stirring Civil Engineering Limited informed all road users on the planned resumption of Phase One maintenance works along the Kampala Northern Bypass that will commence on December 28th, 2024, and will last for 6 months.

In the statement issued on December 27, 2024, the Minister of Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba Wamala, stated that Phase One will focus on sections between Kissasi and Busega, together with interchanges where old asphalt will be removed, the base processed, primed, and overlaid with new asphalt.

“The affected carriageway sections will be fully closed for safety and efficiency, with traffic diverted to the opposite side. The closure will be in effect day and night during the works, “Katumba said.

According to Katumba, the opposite side of the road will be available for diversion and advised users to plan their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid delays.

The ministry also requested road users to exercise maximum caution and adhere to the traffic and safety measures in place to minimise travel inconveniences.
