📌 Seven Senior Three students from Kyamate Secondary School in Ntungamo
Municipality, Ntungamo District were Friday charged with 180 offences, allegedly committed when they torched a dormitory block, killing one student instantly. The suspects, Kanyesigye Odongo Odamal, Arinatwe Anthony, Tumwesigye Arnold, Arinaitwe Elijah, Asiimwe Joshua, Tumushabe Wilber, and Twesigye Lawrence were remanded to Ntungamo Government Prison and one of them, a minor, to Kabale Remand Home. During their Court appearance before Ntungamo Grade One Magistrate, Mariam Namubiru, the suspects were charged with murder, attempted murder, arson, and malicious damage. The charges stem from an incident on February 26 2023, when the prime suspect, Tumushabe Wilber, orchestrated the whole plan and tied the late Bonus Atukwase, a Senior One Student, to the bed before setting the dormitory ablaze, instantly killing him. The arsonists are also charged with 170 counts
