Kisoro Residents Disappointed in Musician Bobi Wine for Not Holding a Concert

The residents of Kisoro district have expressed disappointment in Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, a renowned Music star for visiting their area and failed to stage a concert.

Kyagulanyi, the leader of the National Unity Platform party, was in Kisoro district on Monday, November 11, 2024, to drum support for Sultan Salim Tana, his girlfriend, in the Kisoro by-election.

Several residents have confessed that they turned up to witness Bobi Wine, the musician, do what he knows best by performing since he last fired them with his artistic characters.

John Bosco Ndishimye, a resident of Nyarusiza Sub-County, said they were informed that Bobi Wine was going to Kisoro to put up a free music show.

Ndishimye said he was disappointed when they saw the man engaging in a political rally, yet they were told to go and enjoy his music concert.

“Our people came out in large numbers only to be told that he was not going to put up the show; he was only there to garner support for their candidate.

“This Bobi Wine is a mufere like his song Kiwani. I am so disappointed. How can they lie to us like that? We came prepared for music,” Ndishimye said.

Faith Uwinana, a teacher from Nyakabande Sub-County, said most people were determined to enjoy his concert.

“We were so happy and expected a free show; excitement had been building in the days leading up to the performance. Fans had hoped to see Bobi Wine, known for his energetic performances and socially conscious music, take the stage and engage with the community,” Uwinana said.

The irate residents were left disappointed and felt deceived by Bobi Wine and Sultan’s organizing team, and the disappointment lingers on. They have vowed to punish Bobi Wine’s girlfriend Sultan on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, when they vote to elect their woman Member of Parliament.
