Gulu District Chairperson Threatens To Quit FDC

Gulu District Chairman Martin Ojara Mapenduzi has threatened to quit the opposition Forum for Democratic Change citing internal problems.

The youthful Chairman while appearing on one of the local Television stations said it is about time the party positioned itself as one that will offer solutions to the current problems.

” The rifts in the FDC party are widening. I advise it is time to listen to dissenting voices. The party has internal problems and it is time to refocus all the energies and find a solution for them. If these fights are not solved, I will not be part of the crisis in the party,” he said.

He said the opposition parties have demonstrated a weak point with endless internal squabbles with lack of committed cadres.

” They do not have sustainable structures across the country and they also lack organizational ability to mount a serious challenge against the NRM party ahead of 2021 election.”

Ojara said that for so long, FDC wasted a lot of time in masking their internal weaknesses which make them unable to muster sufficient support in the name of taking power.

Mapinduzi is among the many FDC stalwarts that have come under attack by the Forum for Democratic Party leadership for allegedly switching allegiance or working for National Resistance Movement party.
