The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has run to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) following Denmark’s suspension of Ugandans seeking visas over the quality of the Polycarbonate e-passports.

The spokesperson of the ministry, Simon Peter Mundeyi, while speaking to the press today, Tuesday, July 3, confirmed the new developments, saying that Ugandan passports have no faults. He has stated that the new passports were first verified by the ICAO, the international aviation body that verifies passports before issuing them. Mundeyi has asked Ugandans to wait for a week as the two countries discuss and resolve the matter.

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control has shown that over 7,000 people have travelled outside the country using polycarbonate passports, yet 98 traveled to Denmark.
