The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has introduced a programme for volunteers called the “FUFA Volunteer Programme,” in a bid to improve the delivery of services at football events.
According to FUFA officials, the FUFA Volunteer Programme will involve volunteers in planning, guiding, transporting, welcoming teams, carrying flags, ball boys and girls, and any other activity specified by the FUFA event or match Organiser.
FUFA also stated that the Volunteer Programme will require applicants to fill out an application form, attend an interview, accept the role offer, attend training, select shifts, and notify FUFA of what they can do based on the listed activities and assignments.
“The application exercise will begin today, Friday, May 31, 2024, and end on June 2, 2024. FUFA will only communicate with successful applicants,” FUFA stated.
FUFA stated that since volunteering is an unpaid commitment, selected successful volunteers will receive a variety of other benefits and have the experience of a lifetime by being part of a FUFA event.
This comes at a time when FUFA has confirmed the selling centres for tickets to the Uganda Cranes 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Botswana and Algeria.
Uganda will host Botswana and Algeria on June 7th and 10th, 2024, respectively.
