The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has maintained that the current fuel price in Uganda is still low enough for consumers to afford.
Currently, a liter of petrol is sold at 6,600 while a liter of diesel is at 6400 on average according to the dealers.
John Friday, Assistant Commissioner, petroleum supply in the Ministry of Energy on Tuesday said fuel prices in Uganda is still relatively okay for consumers.
According to Commissioner Friday, the price has not yet escalated high enough to attract intervention.
“The prices at the pumps today are relatively okay. The situation has not reached a level where we must intervene,” Commissioner said.
