FDC Besigye condemns NUP, Bobi Wine for rejoicing Tumwine’s death

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party founder, Col (Rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye has attacked and condemned the National Unity Platform-NUP party stalwarts and leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for celebrating the death of Gen Elly Tumwine.

While appearing in an interview, Dr Besigye described it as inhumane for anyone sane person to jubilate over the death of another even if one was an enemy before death.

According to Besigye only God has the right to Judge the dead.

This follows multiple tweets and negative comments of NUP supporters attacking the deceased.

“I wish to encourage my comrades of NUP and Ugandans at large to stop judging the dead .I am a believer and know that we are all descendants of Adam and Eve and so children of God,” Besigye said.

Dr. Besigye says judging the dead who can’t defend themselves is unfair because they always turn to God at their weakest points in life. Therefore who knows whether Tumwine repented at last minute?

He added that we commit the dead to the Almighty judge for final judgment.

“People always have misunderstandings because of their   imperfect nature but reconciliation is the best tool to bring back humanity and sense of compassion,” Dr Besigye said.

On Monday, President Museveni while at Kololo during the public viewing of late Tumwine’s body said those celebrating his death are just wasting time because he has successfully accomplished his journey on earth.

The same people few months ago jubilated over the death of the former speaker of parliament, late Jacob Oulanyah.
