πŸ“ŒThe Criminal Investigation Department (CID) cyber-crime unit is tracking a fraudster who has been soliciting money from unsuspecting police officers while promising them promotion in ranks. According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the fraudsterΒ  referred to himself as ASP Robert on telephone number 0761987638 and has since collected an unspecified huge sum of money from the officers, promising to help them secure promotion in rank. Enanga said the con also claims to be part of the Human Resources Department at Police Headquarters in Naguru.
β€œWe want to strongly condemn this act and inform all those who have plans to engage in such an act that it is illegal,” Enanga said on Monday.
Enanga reminds police officers that police ranks are never bought because they are not for sale.

πŸ“Œ The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Wilson Mbadi has said UPDF troops sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo for a peacekeeping mission will remain in the country until peace and stability is attained.
β€œThe situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo shall determine how long the UPDF soldiers on peace mission will remain there. If the situation stabilises now, the UPDF soldiers will immediately withdraw. We have no time frame or time limits,” Gen Mbadi said.

🌍 RWANDA: President Kagame re-elected as head of the ruling party 
πŸ“Œ President Paul Kagame was Sunday re-elected the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) national chairman. Kagame received 2, 999 votes, or 99.8% of the total, whereas Abdulkarim Harelimana, who came in second place, received just 3 votes. In the same vein, a first woman vice chairperson was elected to deputise Kagame. Consolee Uwimana was elected by 1,945 votes, about 93% of the votes cast. 🌍 DRC: Landslide kills 19 in eastern DRC
πŸ“ŒLocal officials in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo say a landslide killed at least 19 people on Sunday morning. An official in the village of Bulwa in North Kivu province said the death toll was likely to rise. He said some members of a group of women and children who had been washing laundry in a mountain stream were buried after the ground collapsed beneath them. The region has been battered for months by heavy rains which have triggered flooding and mudslides.
