The President questioned the model of the Secretariat and said he would supervise the PDM money directly. πLawyer Male Mabirizi wasΒ Saturday, February 25, 2023Β released from prison after High Court in Kampala sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment over contempt of court. The law allows the State to release each prisoner, on admission before the prison sentence is over and will be credited with the full amount of remission (one third of sentence) as stated in section 84(2) of the prisons act 2006. Applying one third of Mabiriziβs sentence, 18 months imprisonment makes it 12 months which occurred today.

The passport office has three machines each with capacity to produce 1000 passports daily but only one machine is operating.

πPolice in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Elias Twesigye, 26, a resident of Kajumera cell Katonya parish in Nyakishenyi Subcounty. According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, the deceased was allegedly cut to death with a Panga in a bar brawl by one Augustine Turyahebwa Alias Turyatunga, 20, of Rwangura cell, Katonya parish, Nyakishenyi subcountyΒ in Rukungiri District. Turyahebwa is under Police custody.
πΊπ¬ WAKISO: Two killed by mob over disputed land
πA mob killed two men among a group who had gone to raze crops on disputed land between one Ben Kiwanuka and Ambrose Akikiriza in Busukuma Division, Wakiso District. Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson explained that upon police arrival, two unknown individuals who were grading and cutting down crops were lynched to death by a charged mob. Police arrested two suspects, John Bosco Damulira and Alex Anguyo, on charges of criminal trespass and malicious damage as investigation continue.
