πŸ“ŒThe Member of Parliament, Kimanya-Kabonera, Dr Abed Bwanika has accused his fellow MP Hon Bakireke Betty Nambooze of frustrating others from benefiting from Government yet she is the main beneficiary. Nambooze, while appearing on a Television talk show with Dr Bwanika on Tuesday said there was no need for National Unity Platform (NUP), a political party to which both MPs subscribe, to negotiate with the Government over their incarceratedΒ  supporters who committed various heinous offenses. Bwanika rubbished Nambooze’s submission and exposed her hypocrisy that she was the first to negotiate privately with the State and subsequently benefitted from the money provided to MPs for specialist treatment in the United States.
β€œWhy do they want to benefit from the Government as they leave all other people to suffer in prison? If it is give and take as Nambooze claims, let Nambooze tell us what she offered the Government to be given money for medication in the US beyond what is mandated by Parliament,” Bwanika said.

πŸ“ŒMPs on Parliamentary Forum on Road Safety during a meeting with Civil Society group-Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) on Wednesday called for massive investment in public transport in order to reduce road carnage. According to the legislators, all countries that have invested heavily in public road infrastructure have reduced pressure on public roads, thus curbing road accidents.

πŸ“ŒThe Territorial Police of Soroti District has detained a one Okodi Julius, a witch doctor in possession of a human skull belonging to Edou Simon, 52Β  who was murdered on March 26, 2021. Police Spokesperson East Kyoga, SP Ageca Oscar Gregg said that the witch doctor claims to have advised the killers of Edou who are Ediangu Peter, Emedu Emmanuel, Etapu Kokas, Akwengu Emmanuel and Kongai Jennifer to take his head to him for rituals. Investigations show that Ediangu Peter, the prime suspect who was the deceased’s best man at his wedding, had an affair with the deceased’s wife Kongai Jennifer which could have ignited domestic fights leading to the murder of Edou Simon. He was buried at Akoli village in March 2021.

🌍 MOZAMBIQUE: Floods kill at least 10 in Southern Province
πŸ“Œ The chairperson of the National Disaster Management Institute (INGD), Luisa Meque, said at least 10 people have been killed, 43,426 displaced in southern Mozambique, including the capital Maputo, after heavy rains unleashed floods over the past few days.
