🇺🇬 President Museveni in Bujumbura for DRC crisis talks
📌President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday February 4th joined his regional counterparts in Bujumbura for a meeting to evaluate the security situation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. President Museveni was received at the Melchior Ndadaye International Airport in the Burundian Capital. East African Presidents including H.E Paul Kagame, Kenya’s President William Ruto and Tanzania’s Samia Suluhu are also attending the meeting.

🇺🇬 UPDF Air Force holds medical camp in Entebbe ahead of tomorrow’s Tarehe Sita celebrations
📌The Uganda People’s Defense Force Air force  have Sunday  set up a medical camp in which Nakiwogo residents  in  Entebbe Municipality  have been treated and assisted with various medical needs. Among the medical activities carried out were Cancer screening, blood testing, Diabetes check up, among others.

📌Youth leaders from the Mbarara sub-region were Sunday  guided to love learning so that they can continuously acquire more knowledge to pass on to others. The UPDF Chief Political Commissar Maj. Gen Henry Masiko who addressed them at Mbarara High School, tipped them on ideology as the knowledge of patriotism, pan-Africanism, democracy, and social-economic transformation for Uganda.

🇺🇬 Four arrested over mysterious death of medical researcher at Kyotera Guest House
📌 Hassan Musooba, the Kyotera District Police Commander has said that four suspects have been arrested as Police investigates circumstances under which Dr. Polly Bandola, 32, a medical research officer died at one of the guest houses in Kalisizo Town Council. It’s alleged that on Wednesday,  he hit his head on a metal object in the compound of the guest house where he has been staying. Bandola had just acquired a new job at Africa Medical and Behavioural Sciences Organisation (AMBSO).

📌The Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) in partnership with the Innovation Village will support the digitization efforts of farmers under the Digital Doors Program. Speaking during the signing of the partnership in Kampala, Kenneth Katungisa, the UNFFE’s Chief Executive Officer, noted that the partnership is in alignment with the organization’s aspirations to onboard and support millions of farmers including over 400 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

📌Police in Kiira region on Saturday confirmed the death of two toddlers; Aidah Timugilwa aged three months and 18 months old Patience Namusobya, who were with their parents on a bicycle, before getting knocked dead by a speeding Subaru in Busiibe trading center, in Buwenge sub county, in Jinja district, along the Jinja-Kamuli highway.

📌The Union Vision Mission of Korea has handed over 14 class rooms to the communities of Bugondha Parish, Mbulamuti sub county. Among the 14 classrooms handed over, seven of them are newly constructed and seven were rehabilitated. The first Deputy Prime Minister, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga appreciated the Union Vision Mission of Korea and urged the local leaders to maintain the constructed classrooms in good condition for the benefit of the next generations.

📌URA officials led by Maj. Oyoo Ben on February 04, 2023 carried out an operation on non tax compliant motorcycles with Kenyan number plates in Lolwe and Sigulu island subcounty.
“We have impounded 7 Kenyan motorcycles with Kenyan number plates and some goods belonging to OUNDO RASHID of Kandege Village in Lolwe west parish. Culprits of  the confiscated items  should pay taxes at Sigulu URA station and receive back there goods and items”, Oyoo said.

🌍 KENYA: Victims of FGM can benefit from vaginal rejuvenation services – Expert
📌Doctor Sarita Sukhija, an IVF and fertility specialist in Nairobi, said a lot of young girls are seeking vaginal rejuvenation and egg-freezing services. She added that patients on the fertility journey are looking for such services, including InVitro Fertilisation (IVF) services. Dr Sarita was speaking at the one-year anniversary celebration of her Myra IVF Medical Center in Parklands, Nairobi.
“Girls who went through Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting (FGM/C) can particularly benefit from this procedure,” she said.

📌South African Deputy President David Mabuza has resigned, clearing the way for Paul Mashatile, the new deputy leader of the governing African National Congress, to succeed him. Speaking at family funeral in the northeastern Mpumalanga province, Mabuza said he had informed President Cyril Ramaphosa that he had resigned, and that he was making space for Mashatile.

🌍 Ethiopian Prime Minister holds meeting with leaders of northern Tigray
📌Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali on Friday held the first consultations with leaders of the northern Tigray State since the federal government signed a peace deal with Tigrayan leaders in November. The treaty ended a protracted two-year-long civil war. The National Security Adviser, Redwan Hussein said the meeting reviewed the progress made since the deal was signed.

🌍 Almost 200 prisoners of war exchanged between Russia and Ukraine
📌The Ukrainian President’s Chief of Staff has Saturday announced that 116 Ukrainian prisoners of war have been released and returned home. Andriy Yermak shared on social media that those released “are the defenders of Mariupol, Kherson partisans, snipers from Bakhmut vicinities, and other heroes of ours.” Head of Defense Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov said “It’s quite a successful and big exchange.

🌍 13 Palestinians injured as Israeli forces storm camp in West Bank
📌After a 7-day siege of the city of Jericho in the West Bank, and the closure of its main and secondary entrances, Israeli forces stormed, on Saturday, the camp of Aqba Jabr south of the town. The attack injured 13 people in Aqaba Jabr camp, and clashes broke out. This raid came amid rising tension between the Palestinians and Israel against the backdrop of a bloody Israeli attack on the Jenin refugee camp days ago.
