๐Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has said a doctor in Mubende District sexually transmitted Ebola to his girlfriend. Dr. Aceng who said the doctor had dismissed scientifically proven facts that Ebola can be sexually transmitted, revealed this to the press on Friday 18th November, 2022.
โEbola virus is sexually transmitted. When I say stay away from sex for one year, I am telling you science, and you have to use a condom,โ said Aceng while meeting editors in Kampala.

๐Uganda Peopleโs Defense Forces (UPDF) spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulaigye has said the Jinja incident that left one soldier dead was a mistake on the side of UPDF. Kulaigye however attributed the previous attacks on security to criminal gangs.ย He advised Ugandans to be vigilant during the festive season, saying crime rates are likely to be high.

๐Police in Ayami Police post has in custody Jasper Obong 20, on allegations of killing a 7-year-old minor identified as Innocent Opwonya. According to the Ayami Sub County LC3 Chairperson, Thomas Obur, the suspect was putting on a sports wear chasing people using a panga, thus landing on the minor who was roasting maize in the market on the fateful day.

๐A Ugandan woman was caught smuggling heroin in India worth over Rs13 crore (Ugx5.9Billion) concealed under a carton at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The smuggler had arrived in India in the guise of a garment exporter and was booked for carrying 1.9kg of the contraband.ย Customs made the arrest on a tipoff about substance smuggling from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

๐In a statement issued on Monday, the Director General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija has put prison officers on alert following the recent spate of attacks on security personnel by unknown assailants for guns.
โThere is steady increase of attacks on security personnel leading to loss of lives and theft of guns.ย ย Consequently, all staff must be on alert, safety and security of guns must be taken as top priority,โ Dr.Byabashaija said.

๐Police Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango has advised the general public against watching the World Cup tournament in crowded places, as this makes them a target for terrorist attacks. Onyango said Police has partnered with all security agencies countrywide to monitor the situation so as to avoid a repeat of the 2010 World Cup finals when terrorists struck and killed soccer fans in Kampala.

๐According to Jorum Musinguzi, the Uganda Red Cross (URC) Manager Cash Transfers, the URC society has donated Shs46 million to be given to households identified from four districts that are prone to disasters. ๐The Forum for Women in Democracy has launched a regional civic agency learning fellowship on Strengthening Citizensโ Engagement in Elections (SCENE) in Gulu City. ๐An earthquake has struck the main Indonesian island of Java, leaving at least 56 people dead and hundreds injured.
According to US Geological Survey data, the 5.6 magnitude quake struck Cianjur town in West Java, at a shallow depth of 10km (six miles). Scores of people were rushed to hospital, with many treatedย outside.
