Cricket Cranes’ Win at the Africa T20 Cup Fills Ugandan’s Hearts with Pride and Joy

Uganda yesterday 22nd September beat Tanzania in a dramatic thriller to win the inaugural Africa T20 Cup title at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni South Africa.

Uganda’s victory has attracted heartwarming sentiments all over social media platforms especially on twitter where Ugandans including those vested with authority have expressed their happiness through congratulatory messages.

President Museveni was among the first to congratulate the cricket cranes through twitter.

“I congratulate the Uganda Cricket Team upon winning the African Cricket Association (ACA) T20 Cup in Benoni, South Africa. I acknowledge the sportsmanship and team effort that provided ground for this victory and I pray that you keep it up,” he said.

First lady and minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni also sent her congratulatory message to the team.

“A hearty congratulations to Cricket Uganda Cranes on winning the Africa Cricket Association Cup. I salute you on being crowned Africa’s champions. Our hearts swell with joy and pride at witnessing all Uganda’s recent victories within the sports, all glory to God,” she said.

Speaker of Parliament Honorable Annet Anita Among conveyed her joy on the cricket Cranes victory.

“Salute to the Uganda Cricket team! Winning the African Cricket Association (ACA) T20 Cup in Benoni, South Africa is a loud announcement to the world that we are a formidable nation. Congratulations folks, keep flying,” she twitted.

Depending on the out pouring of love and admiration for  the team’s victory, sports experts have said that there is a bright future for Cricket in Uganda’s sports as Ugandans steadily follow and support it.
