A total of 11 learners at Salama School for the Blind in Mukono have been confirmed dead after fire gutted a dormitory.

The United Arab Emirates government is to repatriate additional 150 stranded migrant workers back to Uganda.
The female migrants who had been stranded at the deportation centres in UAE are expected to arrive in two batches at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday.

The standards, Utilities and Wildlife court sentenced Pascal Ochiba to Life imprisonment for unlawful possession of protected species.
Ochiba was arrested on January 18th, 2022 in Namuwongo zone, Kampala after being found in possession of two pieces of elephant ivory weighing 9.55 kilograms without a wildlife use right.

Court Grants Besigye, Mukaaku Ugx2.5 million Cash Bail
The Chief Magistrates Court at Buganda Road has today 1st July, 2022 granted bail to Dr. Kizza Besigye and his Co-accused Samuel Lubega Mukaaku.
Besigye and Lubega Mukaaku were granted a Cash bail of UGX 2.5 million each and UGX 500,000 non-cash for their sureties.
