Boda Boda Rider Decapitates Son in Ritualistic Murder for Wealth

Police in Lwengo have arrested Kiiza Emmanuel, a 28-year-old male peasant farmer, Boda Boda rider, and resident of Namabaale village, Lwengo district, for chopping off the head of his 3-year-old son, Muwanguzi Augustine, alias Kazungu, in a ritualistic act of murder for wealth.

According to SCP Enanga Fred, the police spokesperson, Kazungu, who was staying with his grandmother, Tugumisiriza Florence, went missing, which forced Florence’s family to search Kiiza’s house because they had earlier seen him carrying a sack. Upon entering his house, they found one of the corners with fresh soil, where they recovered the headless body of the 3-year-old victim.

“The angry mob searched and recovered the chopped-off head of his son in the sack and started beating him,” Enanga added.

“They immediately alerted the communities in the neighbouring villages about the horrific murder that caused the arrest of the suspect at Kyantale village,” Enanga said.

Enanga said the police, however, rescued Kiiza from the angry mob and detained him at Lwengo police station.

Enanga also said that the suspect, who was also a boda boda rider, claimed that he was taking the chopped-off head to ritualists, one of whom is known as Hajji, and his counterpart, Kiwewa Henry, of Makindye, Kampala, who promised him a bag full of dollars upon delivery.

The victim’s T-shirt and red clothes with suspected blood were recovered, and both the head and headless body were transported to Masaka Hospital for a postmortem and DNA analysis.
