Besigye and Opposition Using Masaka Incidents to Milk Political Capital

Other political commentators have used this opportunity to make sectarian comments so as to win favor with allegations of that the people of the area are being targeted because of their tribe.
The government of Uganda under President General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has invested and continues to invest heavily in the security of Uganda and its citizens.
The false accusations made by Kizza Besigye that the entire security infrastructure is in place for regime change is a crude joke that simply has no place in the current circumstances.
Besigye himself is a product of this huge investment as he was recruited, trained and worked under the UPDF before joining active politics.
Its therefore absurd for him to allege that the same government that has established this security infrastructure can be the same that has committed the crimes without even a single piece of evidence.
He therefore should not be the same person undermining the importance of security to national growth and development.
What is happening in Masaka is not an opportunity for political actors to milk capital.
Besigye also alleged that if he had camped in the region, security would have made a quicker response than what has made. All this aura of self-importance is indicative of the selfishness the opposition has used to handle this incident.
Other political commentators have used this opportunity to make sectarian comments so as to win favor with allegations of that the people of the area are being targeted because of their tribe.
All this careless talk is meant to consolidate political gains for the opposition.
The NUP is the dominant political party in the area and as thus needs to act and behave as such and not just as a party trying to win an election. The time for campaigning is over, this is time for solutions.
There is no vacuum of leadership and security in the area.
The government and security services is in control and as such the incidents have reduced. Permanent solutions have been put in place to bring an end to the terror.
