Police detectives from Kawempe Division in Kampala have embarked on the hunt for suspects behind the torture of a teenage girl who appeared in a viral video clip a few days ago.

ASP Luke Owesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, said police are in touch with the victim and suspects have been identified pending arrest.

He added that the incident took place in one of the rentals in Kira municipality and that more details about the incident would follow.

“We shall inform you of the progress on file. Police condemn all acts of torture,” Luke Owesigyire said.

On the 9th day of the New Year 2023, Ugandans drowned in a sea of anger after watching a nasty video clip where a teenage girl is seen being tortured by her fellow ladies, who appeared to be slightly older than the victim, over an alleged crash in love affairs.

According to the recorded voices in the video, the victim is accused of visiting a male individual who allegedly belonged to two tormentors.

The nerve-jangling video has triggered discussions in the media, where most concerned Ugandans are demanding the immediate arrest of suspects.
