Man Arrested after Murdering his wife for denying him Conjugal Rights

Kyeyune Aloysius, a 66-year-old peasant, a resident of Kyambogo village, Nyamitanga subcounty, was arrested on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, by the Territorial Police in Greater Masaka and Ssembabule districts over the alleged murder of his wife.

SCP Enanga Fred, the police spokesperson, stated in a press release that on August 8, 2023, at around 4 p.m., Nassazi Glades, aged 40, was murdered by her husband for denying him conjugal rights and cheating.

According to Enanga, the couple has been having a toxic relationship, which has led them to sleep in separate bedrooms.

“The couple has been having a toxic relationship and sleeping in separate rooms. On the fateful day, the suspect picked a hoe and hit the victim on the head, killing her instantly,” Enanga said.

He added that the motive for the killing was established to be jealousy after the suspect accused his wife of denying him his conjugal rights and cheating on him with other men in their marital home.

The victim died in a violent manner after being hit with a hoe on the head.

“We cannot tolerate such violent acts in relationships and the wider community,” Enanga added.

The police continue to strongly condemn such marital murders.
