26 Police Officers Undergoing Training on Anti-Human Trafficking

A total of 26 police officers have commenced a 10-day training program on anti-human trafficking and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

The training that started on Monday, April 24th, at the Maria Flo Hotel in Masaka City will also cover the management of issues related to surveillance in trafficking in persons and the smuggling of migrants.

SSP Wandela Jamada, the Regional Police Commander (RPC) of Greater Masaka, while opening the training said it will effectively equip participants with skills on how to respond and manage cases of trafficking in persons and sexual and gender-based violence.

Dr. Kayongo Aisha, who represented the Director of HRD, reiterated the commitment to regularly upskill officers through continuous training and refresher courses.

The training is organized by the Directorate of Human Resource Development and Training in partnership with the Sentinel Foundation of the United States of America and Okoa Refugee.
