๐Ÿ“ŒThe Permanent Secretary to the office of the Prime Minister, Keith Muhakanizi stated that government is to conduct assessment on local governmentโ€™s service delivery and performance. The assessment will be conducted by contracted independent firms to undertake the annual local government management of service delivery, performance assessment for FY2021/22.ย ย The assessors will help in the validating results of the lower local government and the health facilities assessment. This exercise is set to start on 31st October 2022.

Samuel George Bogere Egesa, strongly warned candidates that started their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations today to desist from the habit of exam malpractice and visiting witchdoctors to pass the exams.ย ย He cautioned the candidates not to be tempted to carry anything into the examination rooms but rather put their trust in the Lord. Egesa adviced parents to stop the habit of taking their children to witch doctors purportedly for blessings which may in turn become misery.

๐Ÿ“ŒThe Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Monica Musenero stated that government has started the process of investing massively in electric public transport means including vehicles and motorbikes to help drive down emissions. โ€œWe have come up with a plan and an inter-ministerial taskforce that is working on the roadmap to make Uganda turn to electric Boda Bodas, buses for public transport and the entire country will be on e-mobility. Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira, the National Unity Platform party lawmaker for Kawempe North appended his signature on the report backing Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko, as he passed his computer misuse bill 2022 that seeks to criminalize and penalize social media users who criticize and attack government. According to Kazibwe, the youth have vulgarized free speech and therefore it is right for government to take up extra measures and extinguish the already burning flame on social media.

๐Ÿ“ŒAccording to the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Mathias Lutwama, Kiboga District has formulated other measures to curb Ebola disease outbreak. He noted that no resident of kiboga is permitted to cross to the spotted districts of Kasanda and Mubende noting that a joint security force has have been put in place to monitor all district boarders. Residents were cautioned to cooperate with health teams and security in all mitigation efforts put in place.

Musa Tibakirana, the Rukungiri District Police Commander said that they register between five to seven juvenile cases every day and they are all linked to domestic violence. SP.
