๐Ÿ“ŒPresident Museveni has banned foreign travel of Members of Parliament and senior civil servants in the latest move to save the Government from unnecessary expenditures. The savings from the foreign trips will be used to fund critical Government projects. The President issued the directive while commissioning new structures at the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) in Kiryandongo on Saturday.
โ€œSome of them just want money to travel abroad. Tell the civil servants, MPs, and all politicians to stop traveling abroad. Money is wasted on external travel, and here Kigumba is crying out for money. This is really poor planning,โ€ said President Museveni.

๐Ÿ“ŒThe Executive Director Uganda Bureau of Statistics Godfrey Nabongo, in a letter dated January 12, directedย  Chief Administrative Officers and town clerks across the country to coordinate and establish committees to undertake census advocacy and publicity for the NPH August 2023. The census committees will also be formed at the Districts, municipalities, cities, Divisions, Sub Counties, parishes and village levels in a period of two weeks before the program launch in February.

๐Ÿ“ŒAlitwala Rebecca Kadaga, the Minister of East African affairs has announced that the Uganda High Commissioner to Kenya and Seychelles, Dr. Hassan Galiwango, has died. Galiwango died Monday morning at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted.
